We are the premier locksmiths in the region but our beginnings begin 40 years ago in a backstreet shed in Liverpool.
In 1981 in Bootle, Merseyside, Campbell & McGovern Locksmiths are a family run business that have been providing top quality security solutions to domestic and commercial sectors across the North West, offering the best products on the market. Our team have had nearly 40 years of experience in locksmithing and the security trade.
If you find yourself in an emergency situation where you cannot re-enter your premises, our service is 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In most cases, the team will be on call within the hour to help get you sorted. At our trade counter, you can replace keys and pick up locks as you need them In addition you will be able to browse from our stocked stores a whole range of security equipment for your home, offices or shops.
A Brief Timeline
1981The Business Is Born!
We started from humble and unique beginnings in the back of a workshop shed in a back garden in suburban Liverpool. The founder Frank McGovern used to travel to jobs using a bicycle and the local bus route. Back in the 1980's we sold one of our birds for £400 to fund the workshop. Fun fact we are now world champion budgie breeders now!1990Growing Our Operations
Throughout the 1980's and into the 1990's we started to expand with Frank and Carol's son Joe, who is now a director, training to become a locksmith at the age of 16. This started a long line of professional locksmiths who have helped grow the reputation of the business. Carol continued to help Frank with the administrative side of operations at our first premises in Stanley Road, Bootle, where to this day we are still headquarted.1995MLA Approved
With MLA approved status and business operations expanding to new areas in the region, we continued to grow. We acquired more premises in the region to manage operations and reduce our response time being able to serve customers more quickly and efficiently. To date we have 4 units that we control.2008Battling Through The Recession
While businesses where struggling to cope with the economic uncertainty and major recession of 2008, our business thrived and we were able to expand our team and operations in new directions.2023Celebrating over 40 years of business!
Now that we have 40 years in business and are operating and serving across the length and breadth of the North West region and beyond, we look back with pride at establishing our connections and further expanding our reputation being DBS checked and CHAS accredited. We are very proud of how far we have come since that very first day to trusted and reliable security experts. Here is to the next 40 years and beyond!
